INOCULATED MOSQUITOES RELEASED IN BRAZIL TO COMBAT DENGUE FEVER

RIO DE JANEIRO: Ten thousand mosquitoes inoculated against dengue fever have been discharged in Brazil as a feature of a creative endeavor to check the spread of the tropical viral ailment, scholars said Thursday.


Brazil has been the nation, which is mostly influenced by the Dengue fever since 2000. There are more than seven million cases reported. As Brazil is most affected by Dengue so, they have made an innovative attempt to free themselves from this deadly fever, which is claiming so many lives.
For combating this mortal deadly disease, Brazil has taken up the same method which is found very effective in Australia, Vietnam and Indonesia. Brazil gave a vaccination to the mosquitoes with Wolbachia bacteria in the laboratory. This immunization’s domino effect is blockage of development of Dengue virus.
Brazil, for the most part has been successful in this inoculation. After the vaccination, they have released these mosquitoes in front of people’s home.
The main objective for this vaccination is these (inoculated mosquitoes) when reproduce with untamed mosquitoes result in changing the genetic map of mosquitoes and suppress the wildness in mosquitoes. The descendants (progeny) will no longer pass on Dengue.

Dengue:
Dengue fever is a viral disease which spreads through the biting Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

Dengue mosquito is almost twice in size then normal mosquito and has visible white spots on its body. 

Symptoms:
Biting of Aedes aegypti mosquito transmits dengue fever in your body. You may have the following problems:
  • Red rashes may appear on the body
  • High fever
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Joint aches
  • Headaches
  • Sore throat
  • Nasal tautness
  • Cough
