Karachi: Diabetic people when indulge in smoking make a fatal combination that is hazardous to their health.

Smoking causes many problems in wound healing process which consequence in foot infection. Diabetic people when smoke are more probable to develop many complications like neuropathy (nerve damage) and nephropathy (kidney disease).
Another dangerous aspect of
smoking is that it causes the narrowing of blood vessels which hinders the
blood circulation and consequently increases the heart rate. It also increases
the cholesterol level in body and cuts the oxygen supply to tissues as well
which results in heart attack.
Smoking
also increases the risks of permanent vision loss in diabetic
people. Along with blindness, smoking also limits the movement of joints and
bump up muscle pain. Cigarette puffs also cause many dental diseases like
bleeding gums and mouth ulcers.
